As robo-advisers are on track to reach assets under management of nearly USD16trn by 2025, according to a study by Deloitte, the Paris Fintech Forum held in Paris on Tuesday, 29 January, was an ideal place to debate the future of this industry. For this annual occasion, Adina Grigoriu, CEO of Active Asset Allocation, Narciso Vega, CEO of Accurate Quant, Charles Wong, CEO of Prive Technologies, and Josh Bell, General Partner at Dawn Capital, participated in a panel entitled “Robo Advisors : where are the results?"
Will the year 2018 mark the turning point for funds denominated in euros? Long neglected by regulators and players in the finance industry, funds denominated in euros may well make a comeback against unit-linked funds in 2019. The reason? Returns are down slightly, but remain attractive to some, and remain well above unit-linked returns, in light of the market context: the CAC 40 lost 10.95% in 2018, according to Bloomberg, based on performance from 29 December 2017 to 31 December 2018, with dividends not reinvested.
The asset management firm Mata Capital, led by two former Primonial REIM managers, is entering a new phase in its growth. Three years after its inception, Mata Capital, with assets expected to exceed EUR500m at the new year, will in early 2019 launch an online investment platform.
